Last updated: 1 November 2026.
This notice is for the adults who use our website and Classroom: nursery and school staff, teachers and families. Our services are not designed for children to use on their own, and we do not create accounts for children.
1. What we collect and why
- Sign-up details (name, email, password stored encrypted by Wix, role, organisation if you give it, country, languages of interest, how you heard about us): to create and verify your account, give you the free Taster and understand who is interested. Lawful basis: contract; legitimate interests (understanding demand).
- Account and service emails (verification, access, trial and security notices): to run your account. Lawful basis: contract.
- Marketing emails (launch news, new songs, offers): only if you tick the box, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Lawful basis: consent.
- Invitation list (the email of people we invite personally): so your sign-up is recognised when you use your invitation. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Classroom usage (member ID, email, a device label you choose, song, language, video plays, errors, interface language): to keep the Classroom working, fix errors, support you and improve songs and languages. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Feedback and surveys (your answers, plus email, role and song, pre-filled): to understand feedback, improve the Classroom and reply. Answering is optional. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Free trial for selected centres (coordinator and teacher names, emails, centre name): to set up and support the trial and ask for feedback. Lawful basis: contract (or steps before one); legitimate interests.
- Orders and payments (billing name, email, address, payment details): to take payment and deliver what you ordered. Stripe handles card details; we never see the full card number. Lawful basis: contract; legal obligation (accounting and VAT).
- Contact and enquiry forms, and messages you send us: to reply. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Website visits (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser): only if you accept analytics cookies, to see how people find and use our website. Lawful basis: consent.
Where we rely on legitimate interests we have weighed them against your rights; you can object at any time (section 7).
2. Children
We do not collect children's names, photos or other details: the Classroom works with groups only. Please don't enter children's names in device labels, feedback or messages. Accounts are for adults aged 18 and over. There is no profiling or advertising in the Classroom. Where the Classroom is used in a nursery or school, the setting stays responsible for its own pupils' data.
3. Who we share it with
Only service providers acting on our instructions under a contract:
- Wix.com Ltd and group companies: member accounts, plans, shop, content management and emails.
- BunnyWay d.o.o. (Bunny.net), Slovenia: website hosting, video streaming and file storage.
- Google (Workspace, Forms, Sheets, Analytics): feedback forms, company email and, if you accept analytics cookies, website statistics. Only the Bilingual Beats team sees feedback answers.
- Stripe: payments; Stripe is also an independent controller for some purposes such as fraud prevention (see stripe.com/privacy).
- Our professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
We do not sell your data. Our website uses fonts hosted on our own servers.
4. International transfers
Bunny.net: the EU (pages and videos may be delivered from servers nearer you). Wix: Israel and the USA. Google and Stripe: the USA. The UK recognises the EU and Israel as adequate. For the USA we rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. Ask us for details.
5. Security
Access is limited to the people who need it; accounts are protected by passwords and email verification; our providers encrypt data in transit.
6. How long we keep it
- Account data: while the account is active, then 12 months after it closes or after 24 months of inactivity.
- Classroom usage events: 13 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Feedback and survey answers: 24 months; anonymised summaries may be kept.
- Unused invitation-list entries: 6 months after the invitation.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe (a suppression record stops further emails).
- Payment and accounting records: 6 years (legal requirement).
7. Your rights
You can see a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use (including marketing, at any time), receive it in a portable format and withdraw consent. Email info@bilingualbeats.com; we usually reply within one month.
8. Cookies
Our website asks before using analytics cookies (Google Analytics); if you say no, none are set, and you can change your choice from the cookie link at the bottom of every page. The sign-in, Classroom and checkout pages run on Wix and use the cookies Wix needs to sign you in and take orders. The Classroom only stores what it needs to keep you signed in, remember your interface language and device label, and record the usage events above. No advertising cookies.
9. Contact and complaints
Contact info@bilingualbeats.com or write to Bilingual Beats Limited, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. We acknowledge complaints within 30 days and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
